Can I opt out of that and have a Not Poodle?

That said, happy fifth anniversary for the NJO and it's members, both vocal and silent.

Happy anniversary to the NJO.

On a personal level, its been great to meet likeminded individuals, and to learn sooo much from you all.

Before I joined, my collection was a very personal thing to me, which I rarely talked about. Its was also a lot smaller then!

Thankyou NJO, its opened up a whole new world!

Ditto to that - NJO totally opened up my SW life and took it a (big) step further for me....Speaking to likeminded bods, trooping et etc

but also made some cracking good friends on here!

Happy 5th Anni all :D

FECKIN YAY!! :D 8-)

Sorry about this but I just had to . . . . . .

I know this is epic but read it if you get chance!

The negatives first:-
Currently, we are somewhat leaderless and directionless.
(Directionless only in the sense of getting more members or helping charity as we have in the past . . . .which reminds me I never heard anything off H4H when I sent that cheque from work but no matter)

We have lost many members along the way.

Unfortunately we have no shindig this year.

. . . . .BUT we look to the future and think Onwards and Upwards, which leads me to THE POSITIVES.

Currently, we are somewhat leaderless and directionless. But WHO CARES!!

We have lost many members along the way. But A CORE STILL REMAINS!!

Unfortunately we have no shindig this year. But THERE IS ALWAYS NEXT YEAR!!

Last year we had a bit of a get together at Memoribilia, the perfect venue I felt. Though Gem and myself spent much of the weekend giving our services to helping Rich and Jedi Collectables, the Saturday night at the hotel was superb!
I got to meet Mark (Solotrooper), Andy (Revanist), Ben (Blinky), and the one and only mighty Glynnster again (Kota58) and made what I’d like to think of some new friends. Over a few jars obviously! (Can't believe its a year ago now and one of my favourite weekends in recent times - up there in my Star Wars memories with Celebration and queueing up for Episode I etc.)

A few of us attended again in March of this year and a couple of us stayed over again and had a great time. And downed a few more pints of best again.

The point is from never knowing any of these people I went to feeling right at home, in fact, like I’d known most of them years. It just felt right!
And I can’t get over that really . . . . especially since collecting and being a fanboy can be quite a lonely experience.

Also, I’ve made other amazing mates like Sam and Gordy who know I always bleat on about Trooping one day . . . .and out of the blue these people who don’t know me from adam ask me to go and stay in their neck of the woods and they’ll take me out trooping!! Unreal.
(I’ve not forgotten this and if I can wing it I WILL!)

Then there’s just the simple fact of how people on here share information, whether that’s their own new purchases, new releases they’ve seen, fantastic deals they’ve come across for all of us collectors etc. That makes a great community!

I’ll be honest and say I’ve fallen in and out of love with the NJO a few times but the problem was probably me all along. You get out what you put in etc.

So, in conclusion and especially to anyone I haven’t mentioned thanks for being a part of this “Star Wars Scene” and more importantly the NJO that makes me so damned happy! :D

And since I’m being quite reflective tonight I’d just like to say my thoughts are with all of the families of the poor souls involved in the M5 accident. It sounds bloody horrific and makes you realise how fragile life really is and how close the end could actually be. Take nothing for granted my friends.

Thanks to all of you for bringing a bit of light and happiness into this fanboys life.

Thanks to Dave (Jedi58) for all his hard work and keeping this forum going. (A top man)

And thank the maker for Star Wars. :D

May The Force Be With You ALL, Always. :D 8-)

And no I’m not drunk etc!!
